Melcher’s FNC!

This past Friday some of the 1 east boys came out to enjoy late night corn hole, snowcones, s’mores and fun at our FNC! Everyone got a chance to see me dominate at cornhole.

Get to know your neighbors!

I finally changed our board so that we can all learn about the local Amish! As many of you may or may not know the Amish have a very strong presence in the area and are actually a really interesting people! So be sure you learn all about your neighbors.

Lance is here at bad cat tattoo getting his first tattoo! He’s petty excited and ready to get all inked up!

Women’s rights in Egypt

Lance, Alex and I went to a speaker on the 28th, and she focused on her life in Egypt and how the changes have affected the women there.  Aside from the economy changing after the 2012 election of President Morsi life for women changed a lot since Morsi instituted laws which were more in line with practices of Islam. All in all it was very illuminating and I certainly learned a lot about Egypt.

Midnight Madness

Last Friday night aiden and I enjoyed a night of video games with guys from all over the building! All in all it was a great night and I showed my dominance at halo, and how terrible I am at call of duty.

Tornado drill!

1 East enjoyed a really great time in the West Basement during the tornado drill today, even Matt showed up! We were able to learn what the safety position is during tornadoes from our very own Chandler Steele! After this Zack went through the first aid bag and staff in the basement discussed why some items were in the bag.

Track Meet!

This Friday Charlie ran in the 4×100 and the 100 hurdles, he won his heat in the 100 hurdles but unfortunately due to the rain the final heat wasn’t ran but I’m still really proud of Charlie for winning his heat!

On the board that was finally finished there is a lot of very useful information about feminism.  As you can tell there’s 3 different waves, which had different goals which all centered around gaining equality. If you would like to have a conversation about what that means or how that looks feel free to knock on my door!
